Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked… but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yield its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:1, 2-3

As this new week in this new year begins, Lord, help us see the power of your Word. It is easy to get caught up in our little corner of the world, our problems, and our struggles and lose sight of You in our lives. Help us see Your power in our own life? Let us see beyond the forests of mistakes. Beyond all the times we have listened to and walked in the way of the wicked. Forgive us for the times we have sat down at the table of the ungodly. Your law, which is Your Holy instructions, leads in the direction away from evil. Your word is our delight, our peace of mind. We can find no other thing to fulfill us. Our sinful habits, selfish ambitions, unbridled pride all try to fill the void in our lives. God, you see our lives, You see our struggles and You see when we walk in righteousness. We do not walk in righteousness because we are perfect, but because we are walking in faith. The faith in the work and sacrifice of Jesus makes us righteous. Help our walk to be steady and our minds set on You. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
